UPCOMING EVENTS

Don't miss Volunteer Training, Saturday, November 12.

Pati is working hard to learn all the ins and outs of the PRC.  I can see the wheels turn as she has new ideas on how to make the Center better, both physically and with programs and events.  It is very refreshing to have this new enthusiasm and excitement at PRC.

This past week was pretty hectic, and we received some sad news about one of our clients who lost one of her triplets.  Please pray for her and the two other tiny babies.

We are excited about some dear supporters who will be helping us with videos and TV in the future.  Stay tuned for more information about this.  This will also help with the videos for our upcoming banquet.  It is that time of year again.  Please take note below of the first banquet committee meeting next week, and come be a part and/or pray for our 2017 banquet.

What A First Week!

Well, where does one begin, I guess you would say right here, so here we go.

As I entered the center this past Monday, I entered with excitement and "Oh dear God be with me!" Jackie was the first person I saw and with her wonderful smile, God put my fears to rest. So as the day when on, many things crossed my path, from learning paperwork, answering the phones, how to enter clients into the computer, sending emails out, putting donor information in the computer, going to the bank and oh yes, then there was lunch! If memory serves me correct, I took a client or two that afternoon.

Monday night I met 2 wonderful ladies that do our Post Abortion Recovery Program, which is so dear to my heart and I was very pleased to give them some information on what I learned as a facilitator in many classes that I did at the centers I either worked at or volunteered at.
I worked with the ladies on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning with EWYL( Earn While You Learn), that it itself is an huge undertaking. Watching these clients learning and seeing a few precious little babies, makes the work sweeter.

So as the week when on, I was swimming in information and you know the funny part about this is, on Thursday Jackie said "Are you over loaded yet?" I said back to her, "why does that deer in the headlights give it away."

As Friday rolled around, Jackie and I worked on e-mail blast, learning more paperwork, answering phones and making appointments for clients calling us. As I look back on this past week, my heart is heavy thinking about all the volunteers we need so so desperately, to help with all the different arms of this wonderful awesome ministry. My prayer is all the volunteers we have now, will seek out people in their churches more then ever before, to help us go shoulder to shoulder as we Glorify our King!
So now here it is 4:00 pm, Friday afternoon and I am typing to get this e-mail out to everyone, but as the time is getting away from me, it will most likely go out on Monday. I thank God for placing me in this position as Executive Director, asking Him to give me wisdom, guidance, direction,a calm heart,to help me focus on the job He has laid before me.

The week of the 17th-21st we had for clients:
Pregnancy Tests- 7
EWYL----------------15
Abortion-Minded---1
I believe I got the numbers correct, I am still learning, so I ask for mercy and a lot of grace!

I came across these verses in Proverbs 24: 3-4
vs 3-Through wisdom a house is built
and by understanding it is established
vs 4- By knowledge the rooms are filled
with all precious and pleasant riches.

Now I do not want to take scripture out of context, but when I read this, it so spoke to my heart about this center. So with that scripture in mind,in my own thoughts------we know our house is built and we understand why we have been established, We have the knowledge that our rooms are to be filled, with those precious clients, babies, the people coming to Christ, the women turning to Jesus Christ for healing from the trauma of their past abortion( let us not forget the men) and looking at the riches that God is bestowing to this little yellow house on Grace Ave and at our location at the beach.

SAY HELLO TO PATI!

We are so excited to welcome Pati  Adams as our new Executive Director.  She comes to us with a lot of experience in the Crisis Pregnancy ministry and a heart for God that is clearly evident in her speech and mannerisms.  She has been the Director of two Pregnancy Centers, Client Services Director, Volunteer Client Assistant, and Abortion Recovery Leader.  We are thrilled to have her here.  Her heart for the Lord’s work in this ministry is also very evident.

You are invited to come by the Center in the weeks ahead and get to know her.  The following is a few words from her story.

“My life's goal is to get the message out that abortion hurts women and men.  My heart breaks for these precious people that feel that there is no hope for them and they have to live a secret lie for the rest of their lives. I want to make a difference in people's lives.

My journey these past 16 years has included 5 different crisis pregnant centers around the country.
Speaking on radio shows and television. Talking with senators and congressmen and telling them my story.”

God showed me HIS heart many years and now I want to show people my heart. I am HIS servant for Life.”

As you can see we are in an exciting time of transition.  I would like to take this opportunity and say that from the first day I stepped into this position (April 9, 2012), I have felt honored and privileged to be a part of a place where the very heart of God (LIFE) is exalted daily.  After all this is what He sent His very own Son to die for. I intend to stay involved in the pregnancy center ministry until my last breath.  So, you see I will still be around, just not quite as much.

As Pati takes the lead I ask that we all lift her up daily in prayer and support, I know she will do a wonderful job, because she knows what I have been reminded of again and again -
“I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” -  Philippians 4:13

WAITING

Today’s been a day for waiting.  Waited 40 minutes at the lab to have blood drawn for my checkup.  Waited in line at the post office to pay for the newsletter to be mailed.  Then I also waited extra at all the red lights on Hwy. 98 coming in because of the extra folks here from the East side of our state.  Am I complaining?  No, just stating the fact that we are all asked to wait and at any given moment we are usually waiting on something. I remember reading that a child’s ability to wait is a maturity marker.

With this in mind I consider the waiting we are called to do here at the Center.  We wait on clients who are running late.  We wait on an abortion minded girl to state that she has changed her mind.  We wait to hear about the birth of a baby who has been attending with her mother our classes for many months.  We wait on enough volunteers before going forward with a specific project,  we wait for more clients to serve as a result of that new project, and most importantly we wait on God’s guidance.

I believe when we learn to wait on God and His timing, which is perfect by the way, our faith grows and matures.  So if you are waiting on a decision to be made, a loved one to come to Jesus, an answer to a prayer of many years, we are all in the same waiting boat.  Enjoy the boat ride and let God work.

“Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me”
Micah 7:7

Weekly news:
We have been waiting and praying for the satellite center at the beach to start seeing more women and it looks like our prayers are being answered.  Last week we had two for EWYL classes on Monday evening and the mother who had a pregnancy test on Wednesday  morning  has also signed up for the classes.

Jeanie sat in with Pati on Thursday as she counseled a young woman who voiced that she and her husband are looking for couples counseling.  They signed up for EWYL and he will be attending our father’s classes.  The best part however, was when Jeanie’s eyes glowed as she told about the mother accepting Jesus.  She will be marked for follow-up and their names given to a local church.  God does not only save the babies in this place, He also saves families and lives for eternity.

The newsletter was taken to the post office today and they should be delivered tomorrow.  The Post Office will be closed on Monday because of Columbus Day, but the PRC will be open as usual.

Watch For The Newsletter

The printed newsletter is about ready to go to the post office.  Anyone who would like to come help tape and stuff on Monday and Tuesday are welcome.  The newsletters should then be in the homes by the end of the week.  If you are not on our mailing list, please call the office so we can add you to the list.

Ever wonder what goes on at the Pregnancy Center?  Ever  wonder how the women who come to the Center are really feeling?  Check out the “Client Comment” section of the newsletter.

Ever wonder what it would be like to volunteer at the Center?  Well the newsletter has a section for that
too.  It is called “View From A Volunteer.”

Ever wonder just what is the best way to support the Pregnancy Resource Center.  The newsletter lists ways you can be a part by volunteering, praying, and giving.  Check out the back page for all the many ways you can give to the Center.  They include one-time gifts, recurring gifts, monthly donations, in memory or honor of gifts etc.

In case you cannot guess I think we have one of the best newsletters.  If you have a suggestion or an article you would like to share, please feel free to send it to me by email.  jackie@anotherheart.org and we will certainly consider it for the next printed newsletter.

Last Saturday Nurse Beverly and I manned our table at the Life Clinic.  This was the first year for this clinic and the attendance was not what we had hoped it would be, but it is a beginning and next year will be better.  Beverly and I enjoyed one another’s company and the free massage we at the booth of  a local chiropractor.

Prayer and Praises:
We are praising God for sending us a volunteer to help with the Bible Studies on Tuesday Evening and Wednesday morning.  Another volunteer is helping on Thursday and at other times when needed.

Sometimes it looks like out needs outweigh our praises, but this is a lie of the enemy who only wants us to be discouraged.  This is truly God’s ministry, and it will continue as long as He can use those involved.  I truly believe every volunteer, staff member, and board member has the will of God as their desire for this ministry.  I truly believe God is in control and will continue to draw young men and women to Him through this ministry and He will continue to bring new lives into this world as a result of this ministry.

May we lift up our voices to our Heavenly Father and thank Him for this great work!

“I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;”

TWINS, TRIPLETS, TWINS!

This must be the season for multiple births. Two of our clients who come to Tuesday night class are expecting twins. One client who chose to place for adoption is expecting triplets and a sweet young mom came by the Center on Wednesday to donate diapers her lovely twins have outgrown.

What a unspeakable blessing it is to be a part of seeing these babies come to know life. Whether twins, triplets or single births they are all precious, planned by God with an amazing purpose. However, I must admit the prospect of seeing these and other mothers and young women accept my savior as theirs is even more exciting.

Saturday, September 24 (tomorrow) 12-3 – Life Clinic at Rutherford High School Gymnasium, the PRC will have a manned table to assist all who are interested in our services and to share what we do. Other exciting events will be happening at this clinic from other health and spiritual providers in the area.

September 29 – October 1, 2016 – Sound The Call conference presented each year by Florida Baptist Children’s Home. If interested, please call the office and we can give you the details Saturday,

November 19, 2016 – Grills Gone Wild at St. Andrews from 3 to 6pm. Tickets are $10 each and all proceeds are divided for local non-profits. Come support PRC at this event.

Sunday, January 2017 – Sanctity of Human Life Sunday, Please mark your calendar and ask your pastor to call the PRC and request a speaker to share what is being done in the Pro-life arena of Panama City.

Do you have an ice cream churn? The Center is planning to supply 300 servings of homemade ice cream, at the Grills Gone Wild event sponsored by the Rotary Club of Panama City Beach. The date is November 19 from 3-6pm at St. Andrews. If you can help with the ice cream or just come man the booth for a little while, please call the office.

Just a note to let you all know that Florida Baptist Chirldren’s Home’s Adoption services are staying pretty busy lately here in Panama City. They currently have two clients who chose adoption after coming to PRC. Both mothers have agreed that this is a selfless act that will result in a good life for their baby. I applaud their courage and sacrifice.

Baby Boutique Needs: * Size 4 diapers * Baby Wipes * Baby shampoo, wash, lotion etc.

Center Needs: * Bible Study leader (Tuesday evening 6-9, and Wednesday morning 9-11) * Receptionist (Monday afternoon 2-7, and Tuesday 1-4) * Nurse (Monday afternoon 2-7) * Sanctity of Human Life speaking invitation * Sanctity of Human Life callers * Returned or New Baby Bottles

Prayer Requests: Please remember to pray for this ministry. The need is for vigilant and perhaps even desperate prayers because this ministry is on the verge of something great and I don’t know about you all, but I do not want to miss it.

Our Tuesday evening Bible Study is currently studying the book of John. As we watch the movie “The Gospel of John” and compare it with the verses in the Bible it is really great to see how the account in John comes to life on the screen. And once again we are faced with the question, “Who is this Jesus? Do you know Him?”

“If you love me, keep my commands.” John 14:15

WHERE DID ALL THE BOTTLES GO?

Baby Bottle Boomerang is one of the ways PRC raises funds and it goes on all year long.  People take the bottles, fill them with coins, bills, and checks and then return them to the Center.  We attach a card that gives the donor opportunity to get a receipt for their donation sent to them at year’s end.  This is a really neat way to share with others what the Center is all about, while bringing in the funds that help us help moms and their babies.

If you have never participated in this fund raiser, you are welcome to stop by the Center and we will give you as many bottles as you can use or distribute.  However, over the past year we have given out over 300 bottles and more than half of them are still out.  So this is a shout out for bottle return.  Everyone with bottles you have had for several months are urged to return them.  Even if they are partially full, or empty.  Recently we ordered 400 more bottles and was so glad to do it, in order to fill requests from several church organizations

Saturday, September 17 - Volunteer Training has been cancelled for September.  Please watch for news about a training in October.

Saturday, September 24 – Life Clinic at Rutherford High School Gymnasium, the PRC will have a manned table to assist all who are interested in our services and to share what we do.  Other exciting events will be happening at this clinic from other health and spiritual providers in the area.

“If any man come to Me and hate not his father and mother, and wife and children, and brethren and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple”
Luke 14:26. (KJV)

A very strong word - hate, but our Lord used it to describe just how much He expects from those who choose to be His disciple.  It is interesting to note that 43 out of 53 translations of  Luke 14:26 use the word “hate” instead of phrases like “love me more” or “leave your family.”  Perhaps we are not to actually “hate” them like we understand the meaning today, however this, to me, shows how seriously Jesus takes our commitment to follow Him.

Many years ago God drove home the meaning of Luke 14:26 to me.  After moving many miles from my family I wanted to spend every weekend with them instead of getting actively involved in a local church. I was placing more importance on visiting and being with my family, than serving Him and working His fields.  It is often very difficult to choose our commitment to serve in a ministry over our innate desire to help or be with our loved ones.

If God is leading you to be a part of this ministry, by volunteering, giving, or praying, I would like to take this opportunity to stress that this is a calling from God, not from me or anyone here at PRC, and once you make a commitment to time, money, or spiritual assistance, it is actually a commitment to follow Jesus.  More laborers are welcome.

With all my love and prayers.

God is sooo very good, all the time!!!!

Over the past few weeks our moms have been studying “A Woman Who Doesn’t Quit” from the book of Ruth.  Nicki Koziarz gives us five habits to form in order to not be a quitter.  I think it wise to consider these habits and see if we have formed them or abandoned them as ministers in this fight for life.

Habit one:  We must accept the assignment of refinement, even if it is painful

Habit two:  We must follow through with promises, commitments, and projects no matter how we feel.

Habit three:  We must keep our hearts pure so we can see God move.

Habit four: We must be generous with our time, talents, money, emotions and especially love.

Habit five: Keep moving forward by walking in faith!

Something to think about:  (reprint from two years ago)
In 1923, Babe Ruth broke the record for most home runs in a season. That same year, he also broke the record for highest batting average.
There is a third record he broke that year that most people don't know about. In 1923, Babe Ruth struck out more times than any other player in Major League Baseball.
He was the first player to hit 60 home runs in one season, a record he held for 34 years until Roger Maris hit 61 in 1961.  He also held the lifetime total home run record of 714 for 39 years until Hank Aaron broke it in 1974.
He held other records too. He had 1,330 career strike outs - a record he held for 29 years until it was broken by none other than the great Mickey Mantle.

With many swings at saving babies and reaching the lost we will also have many strike outs.  But we cannot quit.  We must be willing to strike out in order to see new life come across that home plate.

Baby Boutique Needs:
·         New Born diapers
·         Baby Wipes
·         Receiving blankets
·         Baby shampoo, wash, lotion etc.

Volunteer Needs:

So long to August and hello to September

The hot summer moving right into September and the threat of storms are ringing in our ears, but all is well.  God is still in control and we are praising Him for His blessings here at PRC.

Upon returning home from my two weeks away on vacation I see a client who accepted Jesus as savior has been forwarded on to a church for contact.  A note on my desk tells me that the Post Abortion Classes will resume on September 12. An email reminded me of the Life Clinic coming up on September 24 and other items are on the horizon.  Also the mother of triplets has signed an adoption plan and we have the opportunity to help her through the Choose Life funds.  Ahead is a listing of upcoming events.
Monday, September 5 - Labor Day holiday, the Center will be closed both in town and at the beach location.

Thursday, September 8 – Meeting with the Rotary Club about the upcoming “Grills Gone Wild” event on November 19.  This year the PRC will be participating in a new and different way.  We will have our own booth with an opportunity to invite people to give and support the ministry directly.  Also we will be asking for volunteers to help man the booth and provide a homemade food item.  More to come on this later.

Monday, September 12                - Post Abortion Healing Classes, Please call if interested and get enrolled.  The dear volunteers who head this up are wonderful, godly women ready to share the love of God with each student.

Saturday, September 17               - Volunteer Training; please call to be placed on the sign-up sheet.  This will be a very important training for all new and veteran volunteers.  We will be going over some policy and procedures that pertain to all aspects of the Center.

Saturday, September 24 – Life Clinic at Rutherford High School Gymnasium, the PRC will have a manned table to assist all who are interested in our services and to share what we do.  Other exciting events will be happening at this clinic from other health and spiritual providers in the area.

September 29 – October 1, 2016 – Sound  The Call conference presented each year by Florida Baptist Children’s Home.  If interested, please call the office and we can give you the details

Volunteer Needs:  We currently need help with our Earn While You Learn classes and Bible Studies on Tuesday evenings at 6PM and Wednesday morning at 9AM.  If you are interested in helping facilitate these classes, please call the office.

We also need help at various times during the week for Client Assistants.  This position is where Christ’s soldiers go to the front lines to minister to those who not only need direction with their pregnancy, but need to know the Great Physician.  What a wonderful opportunity to share Jesus!

Don’t think you are ready for the front line?  Receptionists and nurses are also needed.  These positions are just as important and definitely invaluable to this ministry.  Please call the office and find out how you can put the needs of these mothers and babies at the top of your priority list.

Prayer Requests:  Please remember to pray for this ministry.  The need is for vigilant and perhaps even desperate prayers because this ministry is on the verge of something great and I don’t know about you all, but I do not want to miss it.

The wonders of this great nation of ours, and around this world remind us all of the beauties and wonders God gives us.  I find myself awestruck looking at this beautiful world God lets me be a part of.  Every unborn baby deserves to see these sites.  But even more than that, I want them to have the experience of knowing God the Creator, Redeemer, Physician, and lover of our souls.  The still small voice that reminds me “How Great Thou Art” is worth much more than all the beauties or riches this world has to offer.

GREAT NEWS

The mother carrying triplets has decided to speak with an adoption specialist.  We are praising God for this woman’s changed mind about having an abortion.

Tuesday of this week our appointment book was empty, but before the day was over we had two walk-ins and the good news stated above.  On Thursday we had the same with no appointments, but two walk-ins.  One who was definitely abortion minded, but after counseling and the ultrasound signed up for EWYL and will be attending the classes on the beach.  Diana voiced how great it is to meet with a woman who is so worried about what to do, and watch as her countenance changes from  fear  to relief.  This is why we are here and we are praising God for the opportunity to make a difference in these women’s lives.

Volunteer training is set for September 17.  This will be a time to go over some very important Policies and Procedures of the Pregnancy Center ministry in general and those specific to our Center.  If you are a volunteer, thinking of volunteering, or just want to know more about this ministry, please sign up in the office or call and we will put your name on the list.  At this training we will share some new and exciting things that are happening at PRC.

Attention Regular Volunteers:
We have a new cleaning task can set up in the office.  It is just under the window beside the back door.  Inside the can are paint sticks that have various cleaning tasks written on them.  Each Monday these tasks will be durned to undone.  When you have down time, pick a stick that is undone and do the cleaning items listed on it.  Then turn your stick over to read done.  This is a fun way to keep the Center clean and neat.

Ministry Opportunities for those who cannot volunteer on a regular basis

Wow has it been a whole year since the True and False quiz below was sent out by email?  You may or may not remember it, but thought it was worthy of reprint.  Just think about it.

1.    T___   F____  I have never led anyone to Christ and don’t know how.
2.    T___   F____  I am afraid I will say the wrong thing
3.    T___   F____  I am not sure of my own salvation, so I cannot share with others.
4.    T___   F____  I am not qualified or educated enough.
5.    T___   F____  My life is too busy, I would have to sacrifice in order to help.
6.    T___   F____  I don’t believe sharing the gospel is enough, I need to see results.

If you find more than one of them are true for you, perhaps the following will help:

Evangelism - Making disciples of others.  We are to share our faith and tell nonbelievers about the wonderful changes Jesus Christ has made in our lives. No matter what our maturity level in the Christian life, we have something to offer. Too often, we believe the lie from Satan that we don't really know enough or haven't been a Christian long enough to make a difference. Not true! Some of the most enthusiastic representatives of the Christian life are new believers who have just discovered the awesome love of God. They may not know a lot of Bible verses or the "accepted" way of saying things, but they have experienced the love of the living God, and that is exactly what we are to share.” From Got Questions Ministries -  www.gotquestions.org

Matthew 28:18-20  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
