Watch For The Newsletter

The printed newsletter is about ready to go to the post office.  Anyone who would like to come help tape and stuff on Monday and Tuesday are welcome.  The newsletters should then be in the homes by the end of the week.  If you are not on our mailing list, please call the office so we can add you to the list.

Ever wonder what goes on at the Pregnancy Center?  Ever  wonder how the women who come to the Center are really feeling?  Check out the “Client Comment” section of the newsletter.

Ever wonder what it would be like to volunteer at the Center?  Well the newsletter has a section for that
too.  It is called “View From A Volunteer.”

Ever wonder just what is the best way to support the Pregnancy Resource Center.  The newsletter lists ways you can be a part by volunteering, praying, and giving.  Check out the back page for all the many ways you can give to the Center.  They include one-time gifts, recurring gifts, monthly donations, in memory or honor of gifts etc.

In case you cannot guess I think we have one of the best newsletters.  If you have a suggestion or an article you would like to share, please feel free to send it to me by email.  jackie@anotherheart.org and we will certainly consider it for the next printed newsletter.

Last Saturday Nurse Beverly and I manned our table at the Life Clinic.  This was the first year for this clinic and the attendance was not what we had hoped it would be, but it is a beginning and next year will be better.  Beverly and I enjoyed one another’s company and the free massage we at the booth of  a local chiropractor.

Prayer and Praises:
We are praising God for sending us a volunteer to help with the Bible Studies on Tuesday Evening and Wednesday morning.  Another volunteer is helping on Thursday and at other times when needed.

Sometimes it looks like out needs outweigh our praises, but this is a lie of the enemy who only wants us to be discouraged.  This is truly God’s ministry, and it will continue as long as He can use those involved.  I truly believe every volunteer, staff member, and board member has the will of God as their desire for this ministry.  I truly believe God is in control and will continue to draw young men and women to Him through this ministry and He will continue to bring new lives into this world as a result of this ministry.

May we lift up our voices to our Heavenly Father and thank Him for this great work!

“I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;”

TWINS, TRIPLETS, TWINS!

This must be the season for multiple births. Two of our clients who come to Tuesday night class are expecting twins. One client who chose to place for adoption is expecting triplets and a sweet young mom came by the Center on Wednesday to donate diapers her lovely twins have outgrown.

What a unspeakable blessing it is to be a part of seeing these babies come to know life. Whether twins, triplets or single births they are all precious, planned by God with an amazing purpose. However, I must admit the prospect of seeing these and other mothers and young women accept my savior as theirs is even more exciting.

Saturday, September 24 (tomorrow) 12-3 – Life Clinic at Rutherford High School Gymnasium, the PRC will have a manned table to assist all who are interested in our services and to share what we do. Other exciting events will be happening at this clinic from other health and spiritual providers in the area.

The date is November 19 from 3-6pm at St. Andrews. If you can help with the ice cream or just come man the booth for a little while, please call the office.

Just a note to let you all know that Florida Baptist Chirldren’s Home’s Adoption services are staying pretty busy lately here in Panama City. They currently have two clients who chose adoption after coming to PRC. Both mothers have agreed that this is a selfless act that will result in a good life for their baby. I applaud their courage and sacrifice.

Baby Boutique Needs: * Size 4 diapers * Baby Wipes * Baby shampoo, wash, lotion etc.

Center Needs: * Bible Study leader (Tuesday evening 6-9, and Wednesday morning 9-11) * Receptionist (Monday afternoon 2-7, and Tuesday 1-4) * Nurse (Monday afternoon 2-7) * Sanctity of Human Life speaking invitation * Sanctity of Human Life callers * Returned or New Baby Bottles

Prayer Requests: Please remember to pray for this ministry. The need is for vigilant and perhaps even desperate prayers because this ministry is on the verge of something great and I don’t know about you all, but I do not want to miss it.

Our Tuesday evening Bible Study is currently studying the book of John. As we watch the movie “The Gospel of John” and compare it with the verses in the Bible it is really great to see how the account in John comes to life on the screen. And once again we are faced with the question, “Who is this Jesus? Do you know Him?”

“If you love me, keep my commands.” John 14:15

WHERE DID ALL THE BOTTLES GO?

Baby Bottle Boomerang is one of the ways PRC raises funds and it goes on all year long.  People take the bottles, fill them with coins, bills, and checks and then return them to the Center.  We attach a card that gives the donor opportunity to get a receipt for their donation sent to them at year’s end.  This is a really neat way to share with others what the Center is all about, while bringing in the funds that help us help moms and their babies.

If you have never participated in this fund raiser, you are welcome to stop by the Center and we will give you as many bottles as you can use or distribute.  However, over the past year we have given out over 300 bottles and more than half of them are still out.  So this is a shout out for bottle return.  Everyone with bottles you have had for several months are urged to return them.  Even if they are partially full, or empty.  Recently we ordered 400 more bottles and was so glad to do it, in order to fill requests from several church organizations

“If any man come to Me and hate not his father and mother, and wife and children, and brethren and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple”
Luke 14:26. (KJV)

A very strong word - hate, but our Lord used it to describe just how much He expects from those who choose to be His disciple.  It is interesting to note that 43 out of 53 translations of  Luke 14:26 use the word “hate” instead of phrases like “love me more” or “leave your family.”  Perhaps we are not to actually “hate” them like we understand the meaning today, however this, to me, shows how seriously Jesus takes our commitment to follow Him.

Many years ago God drove home the meaning of Luke 14:26 to me.  After moving many miles from my family I wanted to spend every weekend with them instead of getting actively involved in a local church. I was placing more importance on visiting and being with my family, than serving Him and working His fields.  It is often very difficult to choose our commitment to serve in a ministry over our innate desire to help or be with our loved ones.

If God is leading you to be a part of this ministry, by volunteering, giving, or praying, I would like to take this opportunity to stress that this is a calling from God, not from me or anyone here at PRC, and once you make a commitment to time, money, or spiritual assistance, it is actually a commitment to follow Jesus.  More laborers are welcome.

With all my love and prayers.

God is sooo very good, all the time!!!!

Over the past few weeks our moms have been studying “A Woman Who Doesn’t Quit” from the book of Ruth.  Nicki Koziarz gives us five habits to form in order to not be a quitter.  I think it wise to consider these habits and see if we have formed them or abandoned them as ministers in this fight for life.

Habit one:  We must accept the assignment of refinement, even if it is painful

Habit two:  We must follow through with promises, commitments, and projects no matter how we feel.

Habit three:  We must keep our hearts pure so we can see God move.

Habit four: We must be generous with our time, talents, money, emotions and especially love.

Habit five: Keep moving forward by walking in faith!

Something to think about:  (reprint from two years ago)
In 1923, Babe Ruth broke the record for most home runs in a season. That same year, he also broke the record for highest batting average.
There is a third record he broke that year that most people don't know about. In 1923, Babe Ruth struck out more times than any other player in Major League Baseball.
He was the first player to hit 60 home runs in one season, a record he held for 34 years until Roger Maris hit 61 in 1961.  He also held the lifetime total home run record of 714 for 39 years until Hank Aaron broke it in 1974.
He held other records too. He had 1,330 career strike outs - a record he held for 29 years until it was broken by none other than the great Mickey Mantle.

With many swings at saving babies and reaching the lost we will also have many strike outs.  But we cannot quit.  We must be willing to strike out in order to see new life come across that home plate.

So long to August and hello to September

The hot summer moving right into September and the threat of storms are ringing in our ears, but all is well.  God is still in control and we are praising Him for His blessings here at PRC.

Upon returning home from my two weeks away on vacation I see a client who accepted Jesus as savior has been forwarded on to a church for contact.  A note on my desk tells me that the Post Abortion Classes will resume on September 12. An email reminded me of the Life Clinic coming up on September 24 and other items are on the horizon.  Also the mother of triplets has signed an adoption plan and we have the opportunity to help her through the Choose Life funds.  Ahead is a listing of upcoming events.
Monday, September 5 - Labor Day holiday, the Center will be closed both in town and at the beach location.

Thursday, September 8 – Meeting with the Rotary Club about the upcoming “Grills Gone Wild” event on November 19.  This year the PRC will be participating in a new and different way.  We will have our own booth with an opportunity to invite people to give and support the ministry directly.  Also we will be asking for volunteers to help man the booth and provide a homemade food item.  More to come on this later.

Monday, September 12                - Post Abortion Healing Classes, Please call if interested and get enrolled.  The dear volunteers who head this up are wonderful, godly women ready to share the love of God with each student.

Saturday, September 17               - Volunteer Training; please call to be placed on the sign-up sheet.  This will be a very important training for all new and veteran volunteers.  We will be going over some policy and procedures that pertain to all aspects of the Center.

September 29 – October 1, 2016 – Sound  The Call conference presented each year by Florida Baptist Children’s Home.  If interested, please call the office and we can give you the details

Volunteer Needs:  We currently need help with our Earn While You Learn classes and Bible Studies on Tuesday evenings at 6PM and Wednesday morning at 9AM.  If you are interested in helping facilitate these classes, please call the office.

We also need help at various times during the week for Client Assistants.  This position is where Christ’s soldiers go to the front lines to minister to those who not only need direction with their pregnancy, but need to know the Great Physician.  What a wonderful opportunity to share Jesus!

Don’t think you are ready for the front line?  Receptionists and nurses are also needed.  These positions are just as important and definitely invaluable to this ministry.  Please call the office and find out how you can put the needs of these mothers and babies at the top of your priority list.

Prayer Requests:  Please remember to pray for this ministry.  The need is for vigilant and perhaps even desperate prayers because this ministry is on the verge of something great and I don’t know about you all, but I do not want to miss it.

The wonders of this great nation of ours, and around this world remind us all of the beauties and wonders God gives us.  I find myself awestruck looking at this beautiful world God lets me be a part of.  Every unborn baby deserves to see these sites.  But even more than that, I want them to have the experience of knowing God the Creator, Redeemer, Physician, and lover of our souls.  The still small voice that reminds me “How Great Thou Art” is worth much more than all the beauties or riches this world has to offer.
