Successes and Plans

The yard sale last week was a tremendous success.  $200 more was raised than last year and more than any year past.  Many bargains were found and the weather was perfect.  Thanks goes out to all the MOPS ladies who worked very hard to make this a great event.  Sorry I have no pictures available.  Hope to get them up later.

March 5 was the Table Host Prayer Breakfast.  The food was delicious, and everyone in attendance received their table host instructions.  We have received many table guest lists and are well on our way to getting table numbers assigned.  The best part of the morning, however, was the sweet prayer time as each table joined in one mind and one accord to lift up the banquet and the other needs of the PRC.

We want everyone to feel welcome to attend this year’s banquet, and as attempt to fill 40 tables.  However, if you want to attend this years banquet, please call and let us know.  Reservations are required because we must assign everyone to a specific table.  Table Hosts are urged to get their lists in as early as possible, and remember those who come in early will be placed closest to the front.

Upcoming events:
April 7 - The Worlds’s Greatest Baby Shower sponsored by Healthy Start is set for April 7. Two or three ladies are needed to man a table and we always get to meet a lot of expectant moms who do not know about our services.  We give them a baby bottle and tell them to bring it back filled with change and we will give them a shopping spree in our Baby Boutique.  It will be at the First United Methodist Church from 4:30pm – 7:00pm.

Nurses training – Two nurses are scheduled to receive training to be certified to perform ultrasounds. Currently only Nurse Becky can perform ultrasounds, and it would help to have more nurses who are certified. If you are a nurse and want to be a part of this important ministry, please call the office.

Models for the ultrasound trainings are also needed.  If you are pregnant and want a free ultrasound, please call the office and talk with Nurse Becky about getting on the schedule for the training.

Abortion Recovery classes will be starting in April.  Anyone interested in attending these classes, please call the office to get on the list.  Classes will be held at 5:30 on Mondays for approximately six weeks.  If interested, please call to get on the list.  Please know all information is kept in strict confidence.

Attention all volunteers, it is that time of year again.  Each year we are required to do TB testing for all volunteers and staff who make contact with our clients.  Please check your box for a letter with instructions on what to do.  Also if you have any question, please call the office.

Sharing the gospel and saving babies is at the heart of our mission at PRC.  But often we are doubly blessed when we get to see transformed lives of the women and men who attend our Earn While You Learn classes and Bible Studies.  Recently a father professed his desire to follow Jesus and this Sunday one of our sweet clients has invited everyone to attend her baptism.  Please know that this dear mother has given her heart of Jesus and is taking this important step of baptism to proclaim to the world that she is committed to following Him.  If you attend First Baptist, maybe you can give her a hug and let her know how glad we are for her.She also shared that she will be dedicating her baby to the Lord on Baby Dedication day.

What a joy it is to see these women and watch as they change right before our eyes, and what an honor and privilege to be a part of this ministry.

INCORRUPTIBLE INHERITANCE

We received our new ultrasound last Friday just as I was about to leave.  It sat in the ultrasound room all wrapped up waiting to be installed.  On Wednesday and Thursday of this week the installer came and got it up and running.  It is a very nice state of the art machine.  We were very busy on Thursday with clients and former clients who were invited to come in for an ultrasound to try out the new machine.  There are a couple of items we still need to complete, but for the most of it things are going well with it. Nurse Becky and one of the nurses was given a quick introductory course and Nurse Becky is ready to start showing women their babies with a clearer image.

Yesterday an abortion minded girl called and wanted to come today (Friday) for an appointment and possibly an ultrasound.  We are not open for appointments on Friday, however, since she was abortion minded we agreed to see her.  Nurse Becky came in to meet with her and then performed the ultrasound. I met with her, shared the gospel and she prayed to receive Jesus.     The emphasis was made that she was to really mean it.  She was being rushed by her mother who had to get to work so we didn’t get to go over many of the items, but we are praying and trusting God that He will work in her life and save this baby.

Then as a witness to the ultrasound I could see the tiny heart beat and then after some maneuvering of the ultrasound wand the heart beat was clearly heard.  This girl was definitely abortion minded and when she left we urged her to return for a follow-up visit.  She did not make an appointment, but stated she would call.  She also stated that she was reconsidering the abortion.  We can only leave it in God’s hands.  When you enter your “war room” please wage a battle for this life.

Tomorrow is a big day for the upcoming banquet.  The Table Host Prayer Breakfast will be held at Covenant Presbyterian Church.  All table hosts are urged to attend.  It will be short and sweet.  We will begin at 8:30 and dismiss at 9:30.  Instructions and printed items will be distributed to the table hosts and then we will spend some time in prayer for all those who will be attending on March 31.  If you are not assigned a table yet, please call the office and get on our list.  You can see more information about the event and our door prizes on our facebook page in the coming days.

Next Saturday, March 12 is the MOPS yard sale.  Please see the ad on our facebook page.  The MOPS moms are working very hard getting items ready for the sale.  We will be moving items from our storage shed over to the house across the street this coming week.  We are looking to move the items on Monday afternoon.  If you would like to come help for a short time it would be greatly appreciated.  It is not too late to bring things for the sale.  Bring them this week so we can get them ready for the sale
.
Don’t miss this sale.  Cars are usually lined up the street at 7AM for this sale.  Al lot of good items will be for sale at great prices.  Speaking of parking, please park on the grassy area next to the Center on the corner of 8th and Grace and do not park in front of any houses down the street toward town.

One of the TVs in one of our counseling rooms has a broken speaker and the sound has been getting consistently worse.  A sweet grandfather brought his granddaughter for counseling and watched our video on adoption and abortion.  He enjoyed the video, but commented on the poor sound.  He offered to purchase us a new TV.  I just returned from Best Buy where I redeemed the gift card he brought by last week.  What a sweet man.  I pray God will richly bless him for his generosity.

Easter is just around the corner.  Got those cute little outfits from last year that you child or grand child has outgrown.  We can put them in the store for our ladies to purchase with their Baby Bucks.  Also wipes and newborn diapers are always welcome along with pretty little items for baby’s room.

Still thinking about volunteering?  We have several new volunteers who are learning more everyday.  If you are interested there is still room for you to be where God wants you to be.

Have a wonderful, beautiful, and worshipful weekend.

God is soooo good!  All the time!
