What A First Week!

Well, where does one begin, I guess you would say right here, so here we go.

As I entered the center this past Monday, I entered with excitement and "Oh dear God be with me!" Jackie was the first person I saw and with her wonderful smile, God put my fears to rest. So as the day when on, many things crossed my path, from learning paperwork, answering the phones, how to enter clients into the computer, sending emails out, putting donor information in the computer, going to the bank and oh yes, then there was lunch! If memory serves me correct, I took a client or two that afternoon.

Monday night I met 2 wonderful ladies that do our Post Abortion Recovery Program, which is so dear to my heart and I was very pleased to give them some information on what I learned as a facilitator in many classes that I did at the centers I either worked at or volunteered at.
I worked with the ladies on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning with EWYL( Earn While You Learn), that it itself is an huge undertaking. Watching these clients learning and seeing a few precious little babies, makes the work sweeter.

So as the week when on, I was swimming in information and you know the funny part about this is, on Thursday Jackie said "Are you over loaded yet?" I said back to her, "why does that deer in the headlights give it away."

As Friday rolled around, Jackie and I worked on e-mail blast, learning more paperwork, answering phones and making appointments for clients calling us. As I look back on this past week, my heart is heavy thinking about all the volunteers we need so so desperately, to help with all the different arms of this wonderful awesome ministry. My prayer is all the volunteers we have now, will seek out people in their churches more then ever before, to help us go shoulder to shoulder as we Glorify our King!
So now here it is 4:00 pm, Friday afternoon and I am typing to get this e-mail out to everyone, but as the time is getting away from me, it will most likely go out on Monday. I thank God for placing me in this position as Executive Director, asking Him to give me wisdom, guidance, direction,a calm heart,to help me focus on the job He has laid before me.

The week of the 17th-21st we had for clients:
Pregnancy Tests- 7
EWYL----------------15
Abortion-Minded---1
I believe I got the numbers correct, I am still learning, so I ask for mercy and a lot of grace!

I came across these verses in Proverbs 24: 3-4
vs 3-Through wisdom a house is built
and by understanding it is established
vs 4- By knowledge the rooms are filled
with all precious and pleasant riches.

Now I do not want to take scripture out of context, but when I read this, it so spoke to my heart about this center. So with that scripture in mind,in my own thoughts------we know our house is built and we understand why we have been established, We have the knowledge that our rooms are to be filled, with those precious clients, babies, the people coming to Christ, the women turning to Jesus Christ for healing from the trauma of their past abortion( let us not forget the men) and looking at the riches that God is bestowing to this little yellow house on Grace Ave and at our location at the beach.

SAY HELLO TO PATI!

We are so excited to welcome Pati  Adams as our new Executive Director.  She comes to us with a lot of experience in the Crisis Pregnancy ministry and a heart for God that is clearly evident in her speech and mannerisms.  She has been the Director of two Pregnancy Centers, Client Services Director, Volunteer Client Assistant, and Abortion Recovery Leader.  We are thrilled to have her here.  Her heart for the Lord’s work in this ministry is also very evident.

You are invited to come by the Center in the weeks ahead and get to know her.  The following is a few words from her story.

“My life's goal is to get the message out that abortion hurts women and men.  My heart breaks for these precious people that feel that there is no hope for them and they have to live a secret lie for the rest of their lives. I want to make a difference in people's lives.

My journey these past 16 years has included 5 different crisis pregnant centers around the country.
Speaking on radio shows and television. Talking with senators and congressmen and telling them my story.”

God showed me HIS heart many years and now I want to show people my heart. I am HIS servant for Life.”

As you can see we are in an exciting time of transition.  I would like to take this opportunity and say that from the first day I stepped into this position (April 9, 2012), I have felt honored and privileged to be a part of a place where the very heart of God (LIFE) is exalted daily.  After all this is what He sent His very own Son to die for. I intend to stay involved in the pregnancy center ministry until my last breath.  So, you see I will still be around, just not quite as much.

As Pati takes the lead I ask that we all lift her up daily in prayer and support, I know she will do a wonderful job, because she knows what I have been reminded of again and again -
“I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” -  Philippians 4:13

WAITING

Today’s been a day for waiting.  Waited 40 minutes at the lab to have blood drawn for my checkup.  Waited in line at the post office to pay for the newsletter to be mailed.  Then I also waited extra at all the red lights on Hwy. 98 coming in because of the extra folks here from the East side of our state.  Am I complaining?  No, just stating the fact that we are all asked to wait and at any given moment we are usually waiting on something. I remember reading that a child’s ability to wait is a maturity marker.

With this in mind I consider the waiting we are called to do here at the Center.  We wait on clients who are running late.  We wait on an abortion minded girl to state that she has changed her mind.  We wait to hear about the birth of a baby who has been attending with her mother our classes for many months.  We wait on enough volunteers before going forward with a specific project,  we wait for more clients to serve as a result of that new project, and most importantly we wait on God’s guidance.

I believe when we learn to wait on God and His timing, which is perfect by the way, our faith grows and matures.  So if you are waiting on a decision to be made, a loved one to come to Jesus, an answer to a prayer of many years, we are all in the same waiting boat.  Enjoy the boat ride and let God work.

“Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me”
Micah 7:7

Weekly news:
We have been waiting and praying for the satellite center at the beach to start seeing more women and it looks like our prayers are being answered.  Last week we had two for EWYL classes on Monday evening and the mother who had a pregnancy test on Wednesday  morning  has also signed up for the classes.

Jeanie sat in with Pati on Thursday as she counseled a young woman who voiced that she and her husband are looking for couples counseling.  They signed up for EWYL and he will be attending our father’s classes.  The best part however, was when Jeanie’s eyes glowed as she told about the mother accepting Jesus.  She will be marked for follow-up and their names given to a local church.  God does not only save the babies in this place, He also saves families and lives for eternity.

The newsletter was taken to the post office today and they should be delivered tomorrow.  The Post Office will be closed on Monday because of Columbus Day, but the PRC will be open as usual.

Saturday, November 19, 2016 – Grills Gone Wild at St. Andrews from 3 to 6pm.  Tickets are $10 each and all proceeds are divided for local non-profits. Come support PRC at this event.
