Life Needs Planning

Banquet
Some of you may know there has been some confusion about the date of the Prayer Breakfast.  It was decided on Friday that it would be on Saturday, March 18 and will be at the Landmark Activity Center. If someone does not contact you about this in the coming week, please call the Center and sign up.

The success of our yearly banquet depends greatly on the table hosts.  If you are interested in sponsoring, or hosting a table at our yearly banquet, please call and let us know. Please be praying about how God can use you in 2017 at being a table host or in other ways to fight for life.

We want your baby’s old shoes!
This year’s theme at our yearly banquet is “Who Will Fill These Shoes?”  We will be using baby shoes to decorate our tables.  So, if you have old baby shoes, the ones that your child wore when he started walking, please bring them by and we will make them a part of this so important event.

Ultrasound Update
Last week we told you about the ultrasound warranty and how we are so thankful that if there was to be a problem it would be before the warranty is out.  Well we are again saying thank you to God, because the cost of the repair, if we had not be under warranty would have been $13K.  Therefore we are extending our warranty to include preventative maintenance so if this were to happen again it would be covered.  If you would like to help with the cost of this warranty, please make your contribution to the center and mark it for the extended warranty of the ultrasound machine.  The cost of the yearly warranty for our ultrasound machine will be $3500 a year.  We are trusting God to supply these funds, just as He has in the past.

Next Week
Please watch next week for the date of our next Volunteer Training.
Look for your church in our list of churches who participated in the Sanctity of Human Life observance with the PRC.  We want to give them special thank you and recognition for their part in helping to perpetuate life.

2017 OFF AND RUNNING

One year ago we were about to order our new ultrasound machine.  It has truly been a blessing to this ministry.  Just last week Pati and Becky met with Dr. Ingram and he complimented Becky on the crystal clear images he was seeing from the ultrasound.  We are so thankful to everyone who took part in raising the funds and working toward this new machine.  We are also thankful to God who is the one who causes all good things to come about.

The warranty agreement on our new ultrasound machine will be up in February and we are also thanking God that if a problem was to arise, it would be before the warranty ran out.  Well it did.  We have a minor problem that should be resolved in a few days and our ultrasound will be up and running again.  Please help us pray about the need for an extended warranty to cover the machine in the future.

This past year Nurse Becky and the other techs have performed 113 ultrasounds. Of those approximately 50 were either abortion minded or abortion vulnerable.  After final assessment 19 mothers changed their mind to continue pregnancy.  Please pray with us for wisdom and guidance on the best routes to take in continuing this invaluable part of the Pregnancy Resource Ministry.

SOHL
Most churches in the area set aside last Sunday to observe Sanctity of Human Life.  PRC had speakers in about 28 churches and this coming Sunday there are other churches who will participate.  Thousands of bulletin inserts have been distributed to these churches with information about this life affirming work.  If you had a speaker at your church, please be sure to thank you pastor for supporting this work.  If you did not have a speaker, perhaps you can ask your pastor to contact the Center for information about how your church can get involved in the pro-life movement.

YARD SALE
Every year the MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) host a yard sale to help the PRC.  This is a wonderful fund raiser that helps our annual budget tremendously.  If you have items to donate, please keep them until the week before, then bring them to the house across the street.
This year’s yard sale is scheduled for Saturday, March 11.  We will also be needing volunteers to organize items and man the sale.  If you can help out for this Saturday, please call and let us put you on the list.

BANQUET
Yes it is that time of year again.  We are already organizing, planning, and looking for help with this yearly event.  This year’s banquet will once again be held at First Baptist Church.  The theme is “Who Will Fill These Shoes.”  The date is set for March 30, so please mark your calendar and begin praying.  Please pray about becoming  a table sponsor, table host, prayer warrior, or if you just don’t know what you can do to help, please call the office and we will gladly give you a spot to help out.

EVANGELISM
May I ask you a personal question?  Have you ever led anyone to the Lord?  Well one of our precious volunteers got to experience this for the first time this week.  The smile that covered her face is one that only comes from the joy of knowing God has used her in a mighty way to help bring a new life into His kingdom.  We are praising God for the new name on our Wall of Life.

NEW VOLUNTEERS
The PRC cannot exist without volunteers.   Each year after the Sanctity of Human Life observance many come forward and ask for information about volunteering. God may be speaking to your heart about volunteering at PRC. If so please feel free to call the office for an appointment to meet with Pati or Jackie about volunteering and receive the volunteer application.  A time of Volunteer Training will be scheduled in the coming weeks so please be watching for the date and plan to attend.

PREGNANCY CENTER CONFERENCE
March 3-5 Edgewood Baptist Church in Columbus, Georgia will be hosting the National Pregnancy Center Conference.    “Remaining Steadfast in the Coming Storm”
We are living in a culture that is becoming increasingly hostile toward Christianity and pregnancy center ministry. The questions we will answer are: Why the hostility? What kind of attacks against pregnancy centers can we expect? How should we prepare and respond to the attacks? How will God use the attacks for our spiritual good and the accomplishing of His purposes?
Interested in attending?  Please call Pati for more information.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Don't miss Volunteer Training, Saturday, November 12.

What A First Week!

Well, where does one begin, I guess you would say right here, so here we go.

As I entered the center this past Monday, I entered with excitement and "Oh dear God be with me!" Jackie was the first person I saw and with her wonderful smile, God put my fears to rest. So as the day when on, many things crossed my path, from learning paperwork, answering the phones, how to enter clients into the computer, sending emails out, putting donor information in the computer, going to the bank and oh yes, then there was lunch! If memory serves me correct, I took a client or two that afternoon.

Monday night I met 2 wonderful ladies that do our Post Abortion Recovery Program, which is so dear to my heart and I was very pleased to give them some information on what I learned as a facilitator in many classes that I did at the centers I either worked at or volunteered at.
I worked with the ladies on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning with EWYL( Earn While You Learn), that it itself is an huge undertaking. Watching these clients learning and seeing a few precious little babies, makes the work sweeter.

So as the week when on, I was swimming in information and you know the funny part about this is, on Thursday Jackie said "Are you over loaded yet?" I said back to her, "why does that deer in the headlights give it away."

As Friday rolled around, Jackie and I worked on e-mail blast, learning more paperwork, answering phones and making appointments for clients calling us. As I look back on this past week, my heart is heavy thinking about all the volunteers we need so so desperately, to help with all the different arms of this wonderful awesome ministry. My prayer is all the volunteers we have now, will seek out people in their churches more then ever before, to help us go shoulder to shoulder as we Glorify our King!
So now here it is 4:00 pm, Friday afternoon and I am typing to get this e-mail out to everyone, but as the time is getting away from me, it will most likely go out on Monday. I thank God for placing me in this position as Executive Director, asking Him to give me wisdom, guidance, direction,a calm heart,to help me focus on the job He has laid before me.

The week of the 17th-21st we had for clients:
Pregnancy Tests- 7
EWYL----------------15
Abortion-Minded---1
I believe I got the numbers correct, I am still learning, so I ask for mercy and a lot of grace!

I came across these verses in Proverbs 24: 3-4
vs 3-Through wisdom a house is built
and by understanding it is established
vs 4- By knowledge the rooms are filled
with all precious and pleasant riches.

Now I do not want to take scripture out of context, but when I read this, it so spoke to my heart about this center. So with that scripture in mind,in my own thoughts------we know our house is built and we understand why we have been established, We have the knowledge that our rooms are to be filled, with those precious clients, babies, the people coming to Christ, the women turning to Jesus Christ for healing from the trauma of their past abortion( let us not forget the men) and looking at the riches that God is bestowing to this little yellow house on Grace Ave and at our location at the beach.

SAY HELLO TO PATI!

We are so excited to welcome Pati  Adams as our new Executive Director.  She comes to us with a lot of experience in the Crisis Pregnancy ministry and a heart for God that is clearly evident in her speech and mannerisms.  She has been the Director of two Pregnancy Centers, Client Services Director, Volunteer Client Assistant, and Abortion Recovery Leader.  We are thrilled to have her here.  Her heart for the Lord’s work in this ministry is also very evident.

You are invited to come by the Center in the weeks ahead and get to know her.  The following is a few words from her story.

“My life's goal is to get the message out that abortion hurts women and men.  My heart breaks for these precious people that feel that there is no hope for them and they have to live a secret lie for the rest of their lives. I want to make a difference in people's lives.

My journey these past 16 years has included 5 different crisis pregnant centers around the country.
Speaking on radio shows and television. Talking with senators and congressmen and telling them my story.”

God showed me HIS heart many years and now I want to show people my heart. I am HIS servant for Life.”

As you can see we are in an exciting time of transition.  I would like to take this opportunity and say that from the first day I stepped into this position (April 9, 2012), I have felt honored and privileged to be a part of a place where the very heart of God (LIFE) is exalted daily.  After all this is what He sent His very own Son to die for. I intend to stay involved in the pregnancy center ministry until my last breath.  So, you see I will still be around, just not quite as much.

As Pati takes the lead I ask that we all lift her up daily in prayer and support, I know she will do a wonderful job, because she knows what I have been reminded of again and again -
“I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” -  Philippians 4:13

WAITING

Today’s been a day for waiting.  Waited 40 minutes at the lab to have blood drawn for my checkup.  Waited in line at the post office to pay for the newsletter to be mailed.  Then I also waited extra at all the red lights on Hwy. 98 coming in because of the extra folks here from the East side of our state.  Am I complaining?  No, just stating the fact that we are all asked to wait and at any given moment we are usually waiting on something. I remember reading that a child’s ability to wait is a maturity marker.

With this in mind I consider the waiting we are called to do here at the Center.  We wait on clients who are running late.  We wait on an abortion minded girl to state that she has changed her mind.  We wait to hear about the birth of a baby who has been attending with her mother our classes for many months.  We wait on enough volunteers before going forward with a specific project,  we wait for more clients to serve as a result of that new project, and most importantly we wait on God’s guidance.

I believe when we learn to wait on God and His timing, which is perfect by the way, our faith grows and matures.  So if you are waiting on a decision to be made, a loved one to come to Jesus, an answer to a prayer of many years, we are all in the same waiting boat.  Enjoy the boat ride and let God work.

“Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me”
Micah 7:7

Weekly news:
We have been waiting and praying for the satellite center at the beach to start seeing more women and it looks like our prayers are being answered.  Last week we had two for EWYL classes on Monday evening and the mother who had a pregnancy test on Wednesday  morning  has also signed up for the classes.

Jeanie sat in with Pati on Thursday as she counseled a young woman who voiced that she and her husband are looking for couples counseling.  They signed up for EWYL and he will be attending our father’s classes.  The best part however, was when Jeanie’s eyes glowed as she told about the mother accepting Jesus.  She will be marked for follow-up and their names given to a local church.  God does not only save the babies in this place, He also saves families and lives for eternity.

The newsletter was taken to the post office today and they should be delivered tomorrow.  The Post Office will be closed on Monday because of Columbus Day, but the PRC will be open as usual.

Watch For The Newsletter

The printed newsletter is about ready to go to the post office.  Anyone who would like to come help tape and stuff on Monday and Tuesday are welcome.  The newsletters should then be in the homes by the end of the week.  If you are not on our mailing list, please call the office so we can add you to the list.

Ever wonder what goes on at the Pregnancy Center?  Ever  wonder how the women who come to the Center are really feeling?  Check out the “Client Comment” section of the newsletter.

Ever wonder what it would be like to volunteer at the Center?  Well the newsletter has a section for that
too.  It is called “View From A Volunteer.”

Ever wonder just what is the best way to support the Pregnancy Resource Center.  The newsletter lists ways you can be a part by volunteering, praying, and giving.  Check out the back page for all the many ways you can give to the Center.  They include one-time gifts, recurring gifts, monthly donations, in memory or honor of gifts etc.

In case you cannot guess I think we have one of the best newsletters.  If you have a suggestion or an article you would like to share, please feel free to send it to me by email.  jackie@anotherheart.org and we will certainly consider it for the next printed newsletter.

Last Saturday Nurse Beverly and I manned our table at the Life Clinic.  This was the first year for this clinic and the attendance was not what we had hoped it would be, but it is a beginning and next year will be better.  Beverly and I enjoyed one another’s company and the free massage we at the booth of  a local chiropractor.

Prayer and Praises:
We are praising God for sending us a volunteer to help with the Bible Studies on Tuesday Evening and Wednesday morning.  Another volunteer is helping on Thursday and at other times when needed.

Sometimes it looks like out needs outweigh our praises, but this is a lie of the enemy who only wants us to be discouraged.  This is truly God’s ministry, and it will continue as long as He can use those involved.  I truly believe every volunteer, staff member, and board member has the will of God as their desire for this ministry.  I truly believe God is in control and will continue to draw young men and women to Him through this ministry and He will continue to bring new lives into this world as a result of this ministry.

May we lift up our voices to our Heavenly Father and thank Him for this great work!

“I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;”
1 Cor. 1:4

God is sooo very good, all the time!!!!
