What Is Your Passion?

Hello everyone,

Blessings abound at the PRC.  The world is filled with so much trouble, heartache, and sickness,  but in spite of all this, everyone here at the center gets to see God’s hand working in our hearts and in those who come to us for help.  Two precious ladies prayed to receive Christ this week.  I want to tell you a little about one of them.

She has been attending our Earn While You Learn classes faithfully for several months.  She was always careful to return her homework and participate in class.  Each Tuesday evening we have one parenting class and one Bible study class.  This young mother began asking questions and making comments that caused us to realize that she was searching for answers about salvation.  Terri asked if she wanted to meet with her and Cynthia to discuss her spiritual condition.

She revealed that she had a good friend who was sending her Bible verses and they were the same verses used in our weekly Bible studies.  This happened several weeks in a row.  She was convinced that God was reaching out to her.  With goose bumps and tears the three of them came out of the counseling room smiling and stating that she had prayed the sinner’s prayer and accepted Christ into her life.  We are praising God for this beautiful experience.  God is still in the saving business.

This past week was filled with future possibilities.  Mr. Bill Byrd is working on our website and changing it daily.  We will have two sites, one for our clients and one for the donors.  He has some good ideas about how to make both these sites inviting and informative.  It is in progress, and will be changing daily, so be on the watch for these changes.

Pam and I met with a Public Relations specialist and she will also be giving us deas on how we can better reach the abortion minded women in our area and increase our community awareness.

Don’t forget to ask your pastor about the letter he should have received this week that invites his church to have one of our speakers come talk to his church family about the PRC.

Annette and I visited with State Representative Jay Trumbell.  He was very interested in what the PRC is doing.  It was a pleasure to talk with him.  We were surprised that he was surprised about all the information we gave him about what the PRC does for the community.

We are working on the printed newsletter and it should be going out in a couple of weeks.   This will be a special issue dedicated to honoring our donors and showing where the money comes and goes in the operations of the PRC.  Please let us know if you are not on the mailing list, or if you know of someone you would like to be added, please call the office and we will gladly add them.

Last Saturday was the first of our Saturday training sessions.  We focused on the counselor position.  There were seven of us in attendance.  Three were new volunteers, who were very interested.  We are looking forward to working with these new volunteers.

Our next Saturday training will be focused on the position of receptionist.  Our receptionists have a very important job.  Usually they are the first person a new client will meet.  Their duties are varied, and not complicated.  This training will help them learn things like, how to speak to an abortion minded caller, the importance of confidentiality and when and what to say on the telephone, how to record an appointment and other areas.  The date for this training is presently set for September 19, but may change.  Please stay turned.  If you are interested in being a volunteer receptionist, please call the office and get on our attendance list for this training session.

Please do not forget about our Go Fund Me account to raise money for our new ultrasound machine.  A major milestone was met this past week in deciding exactly which machine we needed.  Nurse Becky has been working hard to get this information completed and we have been advised of a grant we may receive that will pay for the majority of the cost.  We will still be responsible for at least 25% of the cost of the machine.  The cost of this machine will be approximately $25K.  So the $15K goal on go fund me may be lessened when we know for sure about where the funds will come for the balance.  You can go to “Go Fund Me” and find our giving area.  Also please check out the giving page here to  find out how you can give to the center simply by clicking your mouse on a search engine, or ordering through amazon.

Each worker at the PRC , whether paid employee or volunteer is a member of our staff.  However they are not only  a staff member, but a minister of the Lord’s work.  As individuals their love for the Lord and their desire to serve Him are manifested in different ways.  Over the next weeks I want to share the stories of these staff members and try to show you how their passion for life is being revealed through each individual’s ministry.

Miss Cynthia’s heart burns for this fight for life.  Her passion manifests itself so clearly as she counsels and witnesses to our clients.  During the last election she stood on the street with a sign she made that said, “it is not a blob of tissue, vote pro-life.”

Recently her desire to work for life has been demonstrated through her desire to spread the news about the atrocities of Planned Parenthood.  She spends a lot of time and energy sharing and posting on facebook and telling everyone about what Planned Parenthood really is about.  She has personally called many senators and representatives to ask them to defund Planned Parenthood.

She is a strong adoption advocate and shares with anyone who will listen about her experience with adoption and the reuniting of her and her son after many years.  Yes Miss Cynthia’s passion for this ministry is revealed clearly by her actions and you will catch her enthusiasm by spending just a little time around her.  We are so blessed to have her on staff at PRC.

Thanks for all you who pray and offer any kind of support for this ministry.

God is soooo good!!!!

“And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself.”  Luke 10:27

Hello everyone,

This was a fairly slow week as far as appointment s, but a lot of other things around the PRC were accomplished this week.

A lot of talk has been going around about what Planned Parenthood has been doing with baby parts and organs.  This is absolutely horrible.  If you have not watched any of the videos available on http://www.centerformedicalprogress.org.

facebook or other social media, you can go directly to the site from where they originated.  They are called Center For Medical Progress and their web address is as follows:

The pro-life movement is so grateful to them for uncovering the atrocities that are happening at Planned Parenthood.  However, we must not be deceived in thinking that Planned Parenthood clinics are the only culprits here.  There are many abortion clinics and doctors out there who perform abortion under the guise of helping the woman, when their main concern is their bottom line.  If they are not trafficking in baby parts they are certainly charging the mother, her family and us great amounts of money for these abortions.  Well don’t get me started on all the companies, clinics, corporations who profit from the abortion industry.  As a nation, we must take a stand against this evil.

As individuals who believe in pro-life and work through the  Pregnancy Resource Center we must step up our efforts to reach and educate women, girls, men and boys about the truth that pregnancy is not an illness that needs to be treated.  They must learn that this is a life, a unique person who God has sent for a purpose.  The way we do this is by having the best trained personnel and volunteers, the best resources, and the best ultrasound equipment.  Along with aggressive advertising to reach the many, many abortion minded women in our area.

People who attend the churches in our area are the ones we can count on for help.  They cannot help however, if they do not know about us.  Next week we will be mailing a letter to all the churches in the area to enlist them in getting the word out to their church families about what the PRC does and what their needs and future plans are.  Next Sunday I would ask that you ask your Pastor or Minister if he received a letter from us and if he says yes, ask him if someone is coming to speak from the Center. Then please pray about what more God would have you do to help get the truth out there – life is of God and for a purpose.

OK off the soap box now to let you know what is happening around the PRC.  Many thanks goes out to everyone who is bringing the many donations that flood into the Center.  From maternity clothes to baby food, we have been blessed with many donations.  Our space is limited, but that’s ok.  We have room for more and another Baby Boutique sale may be just around the corner.  The good thing about having so many donations is that we can pick from the very best to put in our store.  Our ladies are so blessed to get to pick from the cream of the crop in baby clothes, toys, maternity clothes and other items for their babies.

Several births have been recorded just this past week.  It was an honor to be able to help a family who needed a car seat and sleepers for their newborn.  Two of these tiny angels, have visited us and I took their pictures .  You can see their photos and some other items on the photos page of this blog.

We are praising God for the contributions received for our new ultrasound fund on Go Fund Me.  A total of $255 has been donated.  We should be getting a new ultrasound machine in a few weeks.  Please stay tuned for more information about that.

Tomorrow is our first monthly training session.  This session will be focusing on the area of Client Assistant or counselor.  A lot of information will need to be covered about how to listen, how and when to respond, and the procedures involved.  If you are not signed up, and want to attend, come ahead.  We will make it work.  Next month we will have another Saturday training, which will focus on the duties of a receptionist.  Stay tuned for the date for this training.

Thank you everyone for all your prayers, support, and help!!!

God is sooooo Good!

“Oh Jesus, Lord and Savior, I give myself to Thee, for Thou in Thine atonement didst give Thyself for me.  I own no other Master – my heart shall be Thy throne; My life I give, henceforth to live, O Christ, for Thee alone.”

Recognize this old hymn?    “Living for Jesus”

1 Cor. 10:31
“For whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”

God is so good to us.  When we are heavy hearted about an abortion minded woman who does not change her mind, He turns around and brings us one who does change her mind as a result of the  the ultrasound ministry.  Two women chose to explore adoption this week and one chose eternal life, by praying the sinner’s prayer and accepting Jesus into her heart.  Praises, and more praises.

Monday Annette and I visited the office of Congresswoman Gwenn Graham and spoke to her aid.  Annette and I both felt it was a very successful meeting.   We were able to share what the Center is doing to stop abortion and urged the aid to speak to the

Congresswoman about defunding Planned Parenthood.  We will be inviting her to our banquet in the spring.  We will be visiting other government officials in the near future.  Thanks to Annette who will working to set these appointments.

Sometimes we get a little concerned about our clients who come to class week after week, but their lifestyles do not seem to change.  But this week Teri shared that she was greatly encouraged by what one of our clients wrote on her homework.  It was clear indication that the Bible Studies are making a difference in her life.  Maybe we cannot reach all of our clients to the point of change, but we know our Holy Father can reach them.  Even if we do not see evidence of change, we are trusting in His Word to cut like a sword through all the craziness of this world.

Most of you know I had a little scare on Tuesday evening.  Chest pains caused me to seek medical attention.  I spent the night at Bay Medical where I was treated with respect and gentleness.  Test results all came back negative and the chest pains are attributed to high blood pressure.  I will just keep a closer watch on it.  A great big thank you goes out to everyone who prayed for me.  All is well.

Next Saturday, August 22 is the date we have set aside to do Counselor Training.  This will be the first in monthly training sessions that will target specific areas of our ministry.  Please, if you ever wished you could be the one who witnessed  a woman change her mind about abortion, or prayed to receive Christ or just thought you had something to offer a woman in crisis, would you consider coming to this training.  Even if you decide not to volunteer, you will find so much valuable information in the session.  And who knows, you may even make a new friend or two.

Ultrasound update:
Did you know we are starting on a journey to purchase a new ultrasound machine?  Our current ultrasound machine is old and rapidly becoming outdated.  Sometimes Becky can hardly tell the difference between a grain on the screen from a tiny heartbeat.  We are looking to some local agencies who have offered to help with this.  However, the entire amount needed for a machine that displays the best pictures is pretty expensive.  So we are starting a campaign to raise these funds.  We have set up a Go Fund Me page for anyone who wishes to help.  You can access it at:  http://www.gofundme.com/yz5tn5z8 .

Something else new, is a blog I began to share with anyone who wishes to know, the goin ons (southern for what's happening)  here at the Center.  Each weeks emails will be on the blog and you can make comments, add photos, links, etc.  This will also be a place where you can get the latest news on the Pro-life movement and all the info on the current Planned Parenthood debauchery.  The blog is located at www.fightforlifejournal.blogspot.com  It is a work in progress, so any help will be welcomed.  Be watching for our website to change soon also.

Opportunities for YOU!
  • Ask your pastor if a speaker can come from PRC to explain about the Planned Parenthood videos and share what we do to fight abortion.
  • Attend the Counselor Training on Sat. Aug 22
  • Share your story of what the PRC means to you, or why you support us.
  • Pick up Baby Bottles and:  Ask your small group or Sunday School class to fill them for the Center. Take them to the businesses you visit and leave them for their customers to drop their coins in.
  • PRAY, PRAY, PRAY
Those of us who are believers, know that God’s will is better than our own, but sometimes it is hard to say “Thy will be done.”  Ever wonder why this is?.  Well I believe it is because we are so often ruled by our emotions, not by our will.  When, by an act of our will we are able to surrender our will to that of the Father, then our emotions will have to follow.  Just a thought……

“And be not conformed to this world; but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”  Romans 12:2

Roller Coaster Week

This past week has been a busy, roller-coaster kind of week.  The appointment book has been nearly full to capacity with 19  appointments and 16 of them kept.  This is not including the Earn While You Learn students in our Tuesday and Wednesday classes.  There have been some very sweet and satisfying moments, and then there have been some heart breaking ones too.

In light of all the news surrounding the Planned Parenthood atrocity, it seems some are calling us to ask where they can find a “safe” abortion.  This is sad, because there is no such thing, but we cannot tell this to the caller.  We only say we do not perform them or refer for them, but that we have a lot of information about them, and continue to urge them to come in for an appointment.

Of the three clients this past week who were definitely abortion minded one changed her mind and is looking into adoption. Praise God.

One chose abortion because a doctor has told her the medication she is taking will cause birth defects or even her own death at child birth.  The other was pressured by family members, and even after coming here and deciding not to continue with the appointed abortion in Pensacola, we have learned that she did go through with it, because of her family’s pressure.  I know your heart is aching right now as mine, as I think of these two precious ladies who have been deceived and lied to.  However, God’s word was shared with these girls, and I am holding on to:   Isaiah 55:11 “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth, it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”

I was hopeful in knowing that the law Governor Scott signed in June would perhaps cause the one headed to Pensacola for an abortion to need to return the following day to complete the abortion, and we would have the chance to see her again.  However, I learned that the abortion industry filed an injunction against the law the very day it was to go into effect, so it has not taken effect yet.  I also learned that the group that filed the injunction was representatives of a Gainesville clinic and that they were required to pay over $25,000.00 to file this injunction.  This is more proof that the abortion industry is very lucrative, and does not want to lose income as a result of a changed mind about abortion.  They care not about the safety or wellness of women.

Can you see why we covet your prayers for the women who come into this place looking for help?  Did you know that of the 16 visits this past week; they were seen by only three nurses, and three counselors.  That is over five clients per nurse and counselor in this past week.  When you pray for them will you please also ask God to send not only volunteers who are pro-life, but Holy Spirit led ministers who will lay aside every weight in order to obey God in saving women and saving babies.

True or False, the following are 6 reasons not to be what we call a Client Assistant, or counselor.  Only one is true, do you know which one it is?  Just something to think about.

1.    T___   F____  I have never led anyone to Christ and don’t know how.
2.    T___   F____  I am afraid I will say the wrong thing
3.    T___   F____  I am not sure of my own salvation, so I cannot share with others.
4.    T___   F____  I am not qualified or educated enough.
5.    T___   F____  My life is too busy, I would have to sacrifice in order to help.
6.    T___   F____  I don’t believe sharing the gospel is enough, I need to see results.

If you find more than one of them are true for you, perhaps the following will help:

Evangelism - Making disciples of others (Matthew 28:18-20). ”We are to share our faith and tell nonbelievers about the wonderful changes Jesus Christ has made in our lives. No matter what our maturity level in the Christian life, we have something to offer. Too often, we believe the lie from Satan that we don't really know enough or haven't been a Christian long enough to make a difference. Not true! Some of the most enthusiastic representatives of the Christian life are new believers who have just discovered the awesome love of God. They may not know a lot of Bible verses or the "accepted" way of saying things, but they have experienced the love of the living God, and that is exactly what we are to share.” From Got Questions Ministries -  www.gotquestions.org

A great big thank you goes out to Teresa Byrnes for the lovely, high tea at her house last Friday.  There were 12 of us enjoying tea, scones, petit fours, delicious fruit and sandwiches.  But more importantly, it was a great time of sweet fellowship outside the Center where we could  get to know one another better.

God is soooo Good, all the time, even when our hearts are heavy, He is still there.
