Blessings abound at the PRC.
The world is filled with so much trouble, heartache, and sickness, but
in spite of all this, everyone here at the center gets to see God’s hand working in our hearts and in those who
come to us for help. Two precious ladies
prayed to receive Christ this week. I
want to tell you a little about one of them.
She has been attending our Earn While You Learn classes
faithfully for several months. She was
always careful to return her homework and participate in class. Each Tuesday evening we have one parenting
class and one Bible study class. This
young mother began asking questions and making comments that caused us to
realize that she was searching for answers about salvation. Terri asked if she wanted to meet with her
and Cynthia to discuss her spiritual condition.
She revealed that she had a good friend who was sending her
Bible verses and they were the same verses used in our weekly Bible
studies. This happened several weeks in
a row. She was convinced that God was
reaching out to her. With goose bumps
and tears the three of them came out of the counseling room smiling and stating
that she had prayed the sinner’s prayer and accepted Christ into her life. We are praising God for this beautiful experience. God is still in the saving business.
This past week was filled with future possibilities. Mr. Bill Byrd is working on our website and
changing it daily. We will have two
sites, one for our clients and one for the donors. He has some good ideas about how to make both
these sites inviting and informative. It
is in progress, and will be changing daily, so be on the watch for these
changes.
Pam and I met with a Public Relations specialist and she
will also be giving us deas on how we can better reach the abortion minded
women in our area and increase our community awareness.
Don’t forget to ask your pastor about the letter he should
have received this week that invites his church to have one of our speakers
come talk to his church family about the PRC.
Annette and I visited with State Representative Jay
Trumbell. He was very interested in what
the PRC is doing. It was a pleasure to
talk with him. We were surprised that he
was surprised about all the information we gave him about what the PRC does for
the community.
We are working on the printed newsletter and it should be
going out in a couple of weeks. This
will be a special issue dedicated to honoring our donors and showing where the
money comes and goes in the operations of the PRC. Please let us know if you are not on the
mailing list, or if you know of someone you would like to be added, please call
the office and we will gladly add them.
Last Saturday was the first of our Saturday training
sessions. We focused on the counselor
position. There were seven of us in
attendance. Three were new volunteers,
who were very interested. We are looking
forward to working with these new volunteers.
Our next Saturday training will be focused on the position
of receptionist. Our receptionists have
a very important job. Usually they are
the first person a new client will meet.
Their duties are varied, and not complicated. This training will help them learn things
like, how to speak to an abortion minded caller, the importance of
confidentiality and when and what to say on the telephone, how to record an
appointment and other areas. The date
for this training is presently set for September 19, but may change. Please stay turned. If you are interested in being a volunteer
receptionist, please call the office and get on our attendance list for this
training session.
Please do not forget about our Go Fund Me account to raise
money for our new ultrasound machine. A
major milestone was met this past week in deciding exactly which machine we
needed. Nurse Becky has been working
hard to get this information completed and we have been advised of a grant we
may receive that will pay for the majority of the cost. We will still be responsible for at least 25%
of the cost of the machine. The cost of
this machine will be approximately $25K.
So the $15K goal on go fund me may be lessened when we know for sure
about where the funds will come for the balance. You can go to “Go Fund Me” and find our
giving area. Also please check out the giving page here to find out how you can give to the center simply by clicking your mouse on a
search engine, or ordering through amazon.
Each worker at the PRC , whether paid employee or volunteer
is a member of our staff. However they
are not only a staff member, but a
minister of the Lord’s work. As
individuals their love for the Lord and their desire to serve Him are
manifested in different ways. Over the
next weeks I want to share the stories of these staff members and try to show
you how their passion for life is being revealed through each individual’s
ministry.
Miss Cynthia’s heart burns for this fight for life. Her passion manifests itself so clearly as
she counsels and witnesses to our clients.
During the last election she stood on the street with a sign she made
that said, “it is not a blob of tissue, vote pro-life.”
Recently her desire to work for life has been demonstrated
through her desire to spread the news about the atrocities of Planned
Parenthood. She spends a lot of time and
energy sharing and posting on facebook and telling everyone about what Planned
Parenthood really is about. She has
personally called many senators and representatives to ask them to defund
Planned Parenthood.
She is a strong adoption advocate and shares with anyone who
will listen about her experience with adoption and the reuniting of her and her
son after many years. Yes Miss Cynthia’s
passion for this ministry is revealed clearly by her actions and you will catch
her enthusiasm by spending just a little time around her. We are so blessed to have her on staff at
PRC.
Thanks for all you who pray and offer any kind of support
for this ministry.
God is soooo good!!!!
“And
he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy
heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind;
and thy neighbor as thyself.” Luke 10:27
