Roller Coaster Week

This past week has been a busy, roller-coaster kind of week.  The appointment book has been nearly full to capacity with 19  appointments and 16 of them kept.  This is not including the Earn While You Learn students in our Tuesday and Wednesday classes.  There have been some very sweet and satisfying moments, and then there have been some heart breaking ones too.

In light of all the news surrounding the Planned Parenthood atrocity, it seems some are calling us to ask where they can find a “safe” abortion.  This is sad, because there is no such thing, but we cannot tell this to the caller.  We only say we do not perform them or refer for them, but that we have a lot of information about them, and continue to urge them to come in for an appointment.

Of the three clients this past week who were definitely abortion minded one changed her mind and is looking into adoption. Praise God.

One chose abortion because a doctor has told her the medication she is taking will cause birth defects or even her own death at child birth.  The other was pressured by family members, and even after coming here and deciding not to continue with the appointed abortion in Pensacola, we have learned that she did go through with it, because of her family’s pressure.  I know your heart is aching right now as mine, as I think of these two precious ladies who have been deceived and lied to.  However, God’s word was shared with these girls, and I am holding on to:   Isaiah 55:11 “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth, it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”

I was hopeful in knowing that the law Governor Scott signed in June would perhaps cause the one headed to Pensacola for an abortion to need to return the following day to complete the abortion, and we would have the chance to see her again.  However, I learned that the abortion industry filed an injunction against the law the very day it was to go into effect, so it has not taken effect yet.  I also learned that the group that filed the injunction was representatives of a Gainesville clinic and that they were required to pay over $25,000.00 to file this injunction.  This is more proof that the abortion industry is very lucrative, and does not want to lose income as a result of a changed mind about abortion.  They care not about the safety or wellness of women.

Can you see why we covet your prayers for the women who come into this place looking for help?  Did you know that of the 16 visits this past week; they were seen by only three nurses, and three counselors.  That is over five clients per nurse and counselor in this past week.  When you pray for them will you please also ask God to send not only volunteers who are pro-life, but Holy Spirit led ministers who will lay aside every weight in order to obey God in saving women and saving babies.

True or False, the following are 6 reasons not to be what we call a Client Assistant, or counselor.  Only one is true, do you know which one it is?  Just something to think about.

1.    T___   F____  I have never led anyone to Christ and don’t know how.
2.    T___   F____  I am afraid I will say the wrong thing
3.    T___   F____  I am not sure of my own salvation, so I cannot share with others.
4.    T___   F____  I am not qualified or educated enough.
5.    T___   F____  My life is too busy, I would have to sacrifice in order to help.
6.    T___   F____  I don’t believe sharing the gospel is enough, I need to see results.

If you find more than one of them are true for you, perhaps the following will help:

Evangelism - Making disciples of others (Matthew 28:18-20). ”We are to share our faith and tell nonbelievers about the wonderful changes Jesus Christ has made in our lives. No matter what our maturity level in the Christian life, we have something to offer. Too often, we believe the lie from Satan that we don't really know enough or haven't been a Christian long enough to make a difference. Not true! Some of the most enthusiastic representatives of the Christian life are new believers who have just discovered the awesome love of God. They may not know a lot of Bible verses or the "accepted" way of saying things, but they have experienced the love of the living God, and that is exactly what we are to share.” From Got Questions Ministries -  www.gotquestions.org

A great big thank you goes out to Teresa Byrnes for the lovely, high tea at her house last Friday.  There were 12 of us enjoying tea, scones, petit fours, delicious fruit and sandwiches.  But more importantly, it was a great time of sweet fellowship outside the Center where we could  get to know one another better.

God is soooo Good, all the time, even when our hearts are heavy, He is still there.

“No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day.”  John 6:44
