Over the past few weeks our moms have been studying “A Woman Who Doesn’t Quit” from the book of Ruth.  Nicki Koziarz gives us five habits to form in order to not be a quitter.  I think it wise to consider these habits and see if we have formed them or abandoned them as ministers in this fight for life.

Habit one:  We must accept the assignment of refinement, even if it is painful

Habit two:  We must follow through with promises, commitments, and projects no matter how we feel.

Habit three:  We must keep our hearts pure so we can see God move.

Habit four: We must be generous with our time, talents, money, emotions and especially love.

Habit five: Keep moving forward by walking in faith!

Something to think about:  (reprint from two years ago)
In 1923, Babe Ruth broke the record for most home runs in a season. That same year, he also broke the record for highest batting average.
There is a third record he broke that year that most people don't know about. In 1923, Babe Ruth struck out more times than any other player in Major League Baseball.
He was the first player to hit 60 home runs in one season, a record he held for 34 years until Roger Maris hit 61 in 1961.  He also held the lifetime total home run record of 714 for 39 years until Hank Aaron broke it in 1974.
He held other records too. He had 1,330 career strike outs - a record he held for 29 years until it was broken by none other than the great Mickey Mantle.

With many swings at saving babies and reaching the lost we will also have many strike outs.  But we cannot quit.  We must be willing to strike out in order to see new life come across that home plate.

So long to August and hello to September

The hot summer moving right into September and the threat of storms are ringing in our ears, but all is well.  God is still in control and we are praising Him for His blessings here at PRC.

Upon returning home from my two weeks away on vacation I see a client who accepted Jesus as savior has been forwarded on to a church for contact.  A note on my desk tells me that the Post Abortion Classes will resume on September 12. An email reminded me of the Life Clinic coming up on September 24 and other items are on the horizon.  Also the mother of triplets has signed an adoption plan and we have the opportunity to help her through the Choose Life funds.  Ahead is a listing of upcoming events.
Monday, September 5 - Labor Day holiday, the Center will be closed both in town and at the beach location.

Thursday, September 8 – Meeting with the Rotary Club about the upcoming “Grills Gone Wild” event on November 19.  This year the PRC will be participating in a new and different way.  We will have our own booth with an opportunity to invite people to give and support the ministry directly.  Also we will be asking for volunteers to help man the booth and provide a homemade food item.  More to come on this later.

Monday, September 12                - Post Abortion Healing Classes, Please call if interested and get enrolled.  The dear volunteers who head this up are wonderful, godly women ready to share the love of God with each student.

Saturday, September 17               - Volunteer Training; please call to be placed on the sign-up sheet.  This will be a very important training for all new and veteran volunteers.  We will be going over some policy and procedures that pertain to all aspects of the Center.

Saturday, September 24 – Life Clinic at Rutherford High School Gymnasium, the PRC will have a manned table to assist all who are interested in our services and to share what we do.  Other exciting events will be happening at this clinic from other health and spiritual providers in the area.

September 29 – October 1, 2016 – Sound  The Call conference presented each year by Florida Baptist Children’s Home.  If interested, please call the office and we can give you the details

Volunteer Needs:  We currently need help with our Earn While You Learn classes and Bible Studies on Tuesday evenings at 6PM and Wednesday morning at 9AM.  If you are interested in helping facilitate these classes, please call the office.

We also need help at various times during the week for Client Assistants.  This position is where Christ’s soldiers go to the front lines to minister to those who not only need direction with their pregnancy, but need to know the Great Physician.  What a wonderful opportunity to share Jesus!

Don’t think you are ready for the front line?  Receptionists and nurses are also needed.  These positions are just as important and definitely invaluable to this ministry.  Please call the office and find out how you can put the needs of these mothers and babies at the top of your priority list.

Prayer Requests:  Please remember to pray for this ministry.  The need is for vigilant and perhaps even desperate prayers because this ministry is on the verge of something great and I don’t know about you all, but I do not want to miss it.

The wonders of this great nation of ours, and around this world remind us all of the beauties and wonders God gives us.  I find myself awestruck looking at this beautiful world God lets me be a part of.  Every unborn baby deserves to see these sites.  But even more than that, I want them to have the experience of knowing God the Creator, Redeemer, Physician, and lover of our souls.  The still small voice that reminds me “How Great Thou Art” is worth much more than all the beauties or riches this world has to offer.

GREAT NEWS

The mother carrying triplets has decided to speak with an adoption specialist.  We are praising God for this woman’s changed mind about having an abortion.

Tuesday of this week our appointment book was empty, but before the day was over we had two walk-ins and the good news stated above.  On Thursday we had the same with no appointments, but two walk-ins.  One who was definitely abortion minded, but after counseling and the ultrasound signed up for EWYL and will be attending the classes on the beach.  Diana voiced how great it is to meet with a woman who is so worried about what to do, and watch as her countenance changes from  fear  to relief.  This is why we are here and we are praising God for the opportunity to make a difference in these women’s lives.

Volunteer training is set for September 17.  This will be a time to go over some very important Policies and Procedures of the Pregnancy Center ministry in general and those specific to our Center.  If you are a volunteer, thinking of volunteering, or just want to know more about this ministry, please sign up in the office or call and we will put your name on the list.  At this training we will share some new and exciting things that are happening at PRC.

Attention Regular Volunteers:
We have a new cleaning task can set up in the office.  It is just under the window beside the back door.  Inside the can are paint sticks that have various cleaning tasks written on them.  Each Monday these tasks will be durned to undone.  When you have down time, pick a stick that is undone and do the cleaning items listed on it.  Then turn your stick over to read done.  This is a fun way to keep the Center clean and neat.

Ministry Opportunities for those who cannot volunteer on a regular basis

  • Ask your pastor if a speaker can come from PRC and share what we do to fight abortion.
  • Attend Policy and Procedure training in September.
  • Share your story of what the PRC means to you, or why you support us.
  • Pick up Baby Bottles and, ask/or your small group or Sunday School class to fill them for the Center. Take them to the businesses you visit and leave them for their customers to drop their coins in.
  • PRAY, PRAY, PRAY

Volunteer Opportunities at the Center
  • Client Assistants for Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday (at main campus) Wednesday (at beach location)

Do you have a story you would like to share?  Our next mailed newsletter will be dedicated to student outreach.  If you have a story that would fit this theme, please send it to info@anotherheart.org and it may be included in the newsletter.  Also if your church youth group would like to hear from the PRC, please have them call and we will have a speaker come share some great things about the Center and how they can help in this ministry.

Vote Pro-Life bumpter stickers are available at the Center.  The price is only $2 and we have enough for every vehicle in your family.

Wow has it been a whole year since the True and False quiz below was sent out by email?  You may or may not remember it, but thought it was worthy of reprint.  Just think about it.

1.    T___   F____  I have never led anyone to Christ and don’t know how.
2.    T___   F____  I am afraid I will say the wrong thing
3.    T___   F____  I am not sure of my own salvation, so I cannot share with others.
4.    T___   F____  I am not qualified or educated enough.
5.    T___   F____  My life is too busy, I would have to sacrifice in order to help.
6.    T___   F____  I don’t believe sharing the gospel is enough, I need to see results.

If you find more than one of them are true for you, perhaps the following will help:

Evangelism - Making disciples of others.  ”We are to share our faith and tell nonbelievers about the wonderful changes Jesus Christ has made in our lives. No matter what our maturity level in the Christian life, we have something to offer. Too often, we believe the lie from Satan that we don't really know enough or haven't been a Christian long enough to make a difference. Not true! Some of the most enthusiastic representatives of the Christian life are new believers who have just discovered the awesome love of God. They may not know a lot of Bible verses or the "accepted" way of saying things, but they have experienced the love of the living God, and that is exactly what we are to share.” From Got Questions Ministries -  www.gotquestions.org

Matthew 28:18-20  “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

NEVER GIVE UP

The PRC has Vote Pro-life bumper stickers available.

Our prayers for more abortion minded clients have been answered.  It is quite painful to meet with one of these women and then have them leave without knowing for sure if they have changed their mind.  Even if they state they are reconsidering we sometimes think she is still considering abortion.  We pray that the seeds planted by our witness to her will grow into a new understanding of what God can and will do in and through her.  It is our plea that everyone who reads this email would pray for all the abortion minded women who come into this place.  Whether they leave with a changed mind or not that God would intervene.

One such client carrying triplets stated she just could not raise three children in addition to the one she already has.  After she was given the wonderful news of what Jesus has done for her on the cross she prayed to receive Christ and stated she was planning to continue the pregnancy.  With the help of the Lord and what the PRC has to offer we are hoping for the best.

The Tuesday evening ladies and men Earn While You Learn classes were filled to this past week.  The Tuesday classes are currently closed until further notice.  Also we need to be very strict about enforcing the no children except those under  3 months in carriers.  How wonderful it would be if we had the space for a daycare room, but at this time we are just not capable of having the children.  Praise God for such problems.  This just means we are helping families and our growth potential is certainly apparent.

Women who attend the EWYL classes become very close.  They love one another like sisters and often become protective of one another.  This happened last week when one sweet mom noticed another with some bruises and proceeded to take matters into her own hands.  Then proper procedures were followed and we are praying for God to have His will in this matter.

Two who live on the beach have attended the beach class, but they miss the other ladies so much they came back to town for the class.  Once the beach classes get several new clients coming they will feel the same way and the beach classes will also grow.  Our first sign up specifically for the beach class occurred this past Wednesday.  When fall gets well underway we expect to see more and more take advantage of our beach services.  Please be praying with us about this.

Needs:

We are thanking God that there are no visible needs for the Baby Boutique at this time.  The many donations that continue to arrive, sometimes mysteriously, keep our volunteers busy and our boutique beautifully stocked.

Coming up:
Volunteer training in September.  Please take note and watch for the date to be set soon.
Fall newsletter will be going out in a few weeks.  Please watch you mail box for it, it promises to be filled with a lot of valuable information and news.

Praises:
A sweet volunteer who has volunteered to contact churches about having someone come speak.
Another wonderful volunteer has taken charge of our Student Ministry and has gained approval for two pieces of literature to be placed in Bay County junior and high school counselor offices.  She is also available to speak with church youth groups on abstinence and give information about the PRC.

God’s has answered prayer about  new staff members at PRC.  We are on the verge of great and mighty things being accomplished here at PRC.  Please do not look away or you will miss it.

Ministry Opportunities:
Volunteer Counselor for Monday 5-7, Tuesdays 12-1, and Thursdays 9-12.
Volunteer Receptionists for Tuesdays 12-1

"Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." Galatians 6:8-9

COUNT IT ALL AS LOST

This past week we have seen eight clients who come for pregnancy tests or to sign up for EWYL.  Many new clients came to class on Tuesday evening with a total of eight women and two men.

Sometimes I wish we could get inside the minds of these clients and know exactly what their intentions are about their spiritual life and the life of their babies.  Of course this is impossible; we can only go by what they tell us.  I say this because of the eight we saw last week we know for sure that one of them was abortion minded, but have suspicions about others.  Only God can know for sure and we pray He will intervene and bring life out of the turmoil these women are experiencing.  We are, however, praising God for one who prayed to receive Christ and signed her name to our Wall of Life.

These decisions to trust Christ too cannot be examined or tested to know if they are “for real.”  They can again be taken to the one they professed to follow and ask Him to take control.  We urge them to get involved in a local church and even ask if we can have one contact them, but again, ultimately we must leave them in God’s hands.  He is big enough to care for those He loves and we know He loves these women.

Summer is upon us and the warm dry weather has attracted many vacationers to our area.  A group of teen agers came last week to clean.  They raked leaves, washed window sills, and dusted and vacuumed the inside.  Thank you goes out to the kids who came for Extreme Summer and gave to help PRC.

Summer has also given many of our volunteers and clients time away from the daily activities.  Our appointments are remaining average, but our volunteers are not.  We are needing some help on
Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.  If you can help in, especially, with counseling, please call the Center.  Another area we are needing volunteers is at the new Beach location on Wednesday morning from 10-Noon.  Just a few hours that fly by very quickly, but store up valuable treasures in heaven.

A summer newsletter will be going out, hopefully before school starts again.  With this newsletter we want to target the students and ways we can reach them with information about our Center.  Making efforts to reach the individual school counselors to see if they have our information is going to be our next step.  If you can help in this area, please let us know.

If I can get a little personal, I want to share a couple of feeling with everyone out there.  This ministry is near and dear to my heart.  I want God to richly bless this place, even after I am gone.  I believe that is why God reminded me, (just yesterday) that the most important way this ministry can march into the future is by getting the word into our churches.  Many times I have said the world is not going to help us, we must appeal to believers who are sitting in the churches on Sundays about our mission to share the Gospel and save babies.  These are the people God can inspire and motivate to help in this work.  So, please be praying about how your church, and the churches of your friends and neighbors can do more than ever before to further this work.

Usually we wait until later in the year to start planning for Sanctity of Human Life Sunday in January, but beginning in July we will begin our church contacts and start setting up dates for a speaker to share what God is doing at PRC.  This is not only an appeal for help, it is also an offer of a way everyone can be involved in missions right here at home.  Please pray about this with me.

Our last Volunteer Training went very well.  With a total of seven of us in attendance we were able to
cover a lot of information in a very short time.  There is still a lot to learn from our manual “Intimacy Before Impact,” so each one was urged to read additional pages.  If you have a manual I urge you to read it too.  It is full of valuable information, not only about the PRC ministry, but life in general.  The reason it is so good, is because it is based completely in God’s Word.  Next training date is not set yet, but keep watching for the next one.  It will focus on office procedures, resources, and personal training opportunities.

This brings me to another point that I hope does not offend anyone, but may I just say the work done here at PRC, whether by a volunteer or a paid staff member is considered missionary work.  Just as a foreign missionary or missionary family is called to the mission field, so are those who serve in this place “called” by God.  Just as a foreign missionary must leave everything behind and follow Jesus to a new field, so are those who serve in this ministry.  Sometimes we are called to leave our job, our homes, our comfort zone, and yes even our families, trusting God to be with them while we are away. Oh, don’t get me wrong, I am not advocating abandonment, I am saying; however, missionaries are called to sacrifice while they minister.  The same goes for home missions. Are you called to be a home missionary?  Please pray about it.

Beach Center update:  At the new beach location we have had two EWYL students and one EWYL sign up who will begin classes this coming Monday evening.  The satellite center is getting off to a slow start, but we are still in the process of getting the information out that we are there.  Please visit our facebook page and share the information there so all who see your page will know “PRC is now at the Beach”

“What is more, I consider everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things.  I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ.”

BE PREPARED

Hello all,

It has been pretty slow this summer.  Our appointments have been few and our EWYL classes have also been down a bit.  I suppose it is often referred to as the “Summer Slump” or “Summer Slow Down.”  I prefer to call it the “Summer Regroup.”  Because, you see we can use this time to prepare for the times when our appointment books are filled with new and return clients who need our services.  God knows how to assist this ministry when we need assisting, because so many of our volunteers are out on vacation or other life issues that have drawn them away for a while.

So during this time we will take the opportunity to learn, grow and prepare.  One way to do this is by watching the many videos we have available here at the Center.  These videos will encourage and inspire us to continue working diligently at stopping abortion and helping mothers in need of spiritual and material needs.

Another way we can prepare is by completing the Evangelism Training available through Mission Preborn and Carenet.  The instructions on these evangelism trainings are available in print here at the Center or I will gladly email them to you so you can take the training in the convenience of your own home.

Preparation number 3 is new.  The clients we see at the Center come from all walks of life and from many different beliefs and faiths.  Just this past week a Muslim woman came to the Center.  We need to be ready to share the Gospel with anyone who is of a different belief.  Our church has been studying “Dare2Share” on Wednesday nights.  This information will be printed and available to read while at the Center.  Or you can go to the website at www.dare2share.org/products-resources/worldviews.  “When you’re sharing your faith with someone who believes differently than you about Jesus, be sure to “ask, admire and admit.” https://youtu.be/E7RkC9C3H7U
Volunteer training next Saturday, June 18, 8:30 -12N.  We have several signed up to attend this training.  Please call the office to add your name.  We will be covering the position of Client Assistant (counselor).  This volunteer position is not difficult and does not require a degree in counseling.  Basically it is listening and showing Christian love, however, there are procedures and guidelines we must follow.  So please, if interested please attend this important training session.  Hope to see YOU there.

Beach satellite news:  Last week we have one client to attend the EWYL class on
Monday evening at the Beach location.  A dear volunteer has offered to put out flyers about the new location and we now have signs to place in front of the new facility on the days we are there.  We expect God to do a mighty work at this location, just as He has and is presently doing at the Main Center location.  We have a nurse and receptionist ready to start taking clients on Wednesday mornings;  however we are still in needs of a Client Assistant for that time.  If interested, please pray about it.  Then if God is leading you to help these girls, please call and let us know.

Projects for the coming weeks include:  Student Outreach (calling and scheduling visits to the schools to share our information with counselors and nurses), Church Outreach (calling and scheduling visits to churches in our area and asking for speaking opportunities.

Volunteer Needs:
Receptionists:  Monday (5-7), and Tuesday (10-1)
Client Assistants:  Monday (5-7), Tuesday 10-1 and 1-4), Thursday 10-2 and 1-4 and Wednesday (10-1 at the Beach)
Nurses:  Monday (5-7) and Thursday (10-4).
Sonographer:  Monday (5-7) and Thursday 10-4)

Thank you for your prayers for the above needs and for the continued blessings from God on this ministry.  Praise God from whom all blessing flow.

Have a wonderful weekend!

“Wise men store up knowledge, but the mouth  of a fool invites ruin.”
Proverbs 10:14 (NIV)

PRC VOLUNTEERS ARE THE GREATEST!

If you didn’t make it to our Volunteer Appreciation cookout last Saturday, you missed a blessing.  Sonja and   home.  About twenty volunteers were there.  The food was delicious, and after dinner we sat and introduced ourselves to one another and went over some memories of the past few years.  Then we played a game that brought lots of laughter.
Scott Seidler were so gracious to have us at their beautiful

Each volunteer is precious to this ministry and if you did or did not make it to the cookout we just want you to know you are loved and appreciated.  Please remember to pick up your appreciation gift the next time you come to serve.

Summer is starting and school is about to be out.  A lot of exciting things happen this time of year.  As many of our volunteers plan vacations we are reminded that there are many hours where we will be short handed.  If you would like to fill one of these slots, please call the office, we will let you know the times where your help is needed.

We are praising God for two who prayed to receive Jesus Christ as their savior just yesterday.  Each one was so special.  Connie said, “The hairs on my arm was standing on end, I felt God was using me to speak to this girl.”

She picked out a church on our church list and stated she would start attending.  Her name was written on our Wall of Life and Connie filled out a Church Referral form.  Her name and information was then sent to the church of her choice for contact.

Later in the afternoon, another name went up on the Wall of Life.   Kathy brought a beautiful woman to my door and asked her to tell me what had just happened to her.  With a big smile on her face she stated that she had prayed to receive Christ.  I asked her if that meant she had accepted Him into her life and that she would be following Him.  She assured me that was what it meant.  She also stated she would be attending a small group at church.

Does this not make you glad to be a part of a ministry where the Kingdom of God is growing?  It sure does me.  Sharing Jesus, stopping abortion, and helping pregnant women is our mission and we get to see that mission met often around here.

Wednesday evening was Mission Emphasis at Hiland Park Baptist Church.  Becky and Beverly set up a table and many stopped by and received information.  They also purchased the precious feet pens and Crossroads of the Heart video.  If you would like some of these to offer to your group, just stop by the Center.  Baby Bottles are also available.

Coming up:
Pregnancy Resource Center at the Beach will begin classes on June 6.  We have several signed up and teachers ready to go.  We will be meeting at the new center on Wednesday, June 1 to organize files, baby items, and get ready for the following Monday evening.  We have some book cases and a clothes rack that needs assembly, so if you can help, just call for directions and time.

Client Assistant training is set for Saturday, June 18.  Even some of our receptionists and teachers are planning to attend to learn more about counseling women in crisis.  A signup sheet is in the office.  Call if you want your name added to the list.  Breakfast will be at 8:30AM and we will be concluded by noon.  Hope to see many new faces.

The biggest thing this ministry needs, and it is always true, is prayer.  The areas we would ask you to pray

about are:
For our staff and volunteers to be kept safe from the evil one
For abortion minded callers to be compelled to come to the Center
For abortion minded women to change their mind upon counseling or seeing the ultrasound or their baby
For a God to increase the size of our tent – reach more and more who need our help
The enemy does not want this ministry to flourish.  He is working all the time to hurt it, but guess what – greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world.

Pulling out the red white and blue for Memorial Day I am reminded from Memorial Day to Labor Day it seems to center around patriotism.   Truly no greater need for prayer is needed than for our country.

“Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people.”  Proverbs 14:34

Memorial Day weekend is already behind us.  I hope each of you had a wonderful relaxing and worshipful long weekend.

God is soooo good!
